Parkland County has three Equipment Operator II positions available in our Public Works Department. One full-time position and one seasonal position stationed in Tomahawk, and one seasonal position stationed in Stony Plain. Reporting to the General Foreman, your duties include operating a variety of trucks and road maintenance equipment. You will perform labour related duties when not operating vehicles or equipment and may be required to work with minimal supervision. The ability to effectively organize equipment and materials to accomplish objectives in an efficient manner and keep accurate, detailed and legible records is required.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience operating a variety of equipment including tandem trucks, motor graders, front end loaders, etc.
- Valid Alberta Class 3 Operators License with Q (air) endorsement. Upon hire, a current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Mechanically inclined.
Rate of Pay: $33.47 per hour (2019 Rate)
Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week *Seasonal positions are working six months per year
These positions are covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
