Description
Parkland County has a temporary position available at the Entwistle Community Recreation Center for a Team Lead, Aquatic Operations from approximately March to September 30, 2023 working part-time March, April and September and full-time from May to August. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Recreation & Culture, the Team Lead, Aquatic Operations is responsible for ensuring the aquatic facility is providing a high quality, safe, enjoyable aquatic opportunity for patrons through the provision of quality programs delivered by the lifeguards and instructors. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the aquatic facility including but not limited to the annual pool start-up and shut down, scheduling and supervision of Lifeguards, and daily operational activities including water quality, maintenance and cleaning.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Two (2) seasons (or equivalent) as a Senior Lifeguard and/or Instructor
- Required Certifications:
- National Lifeguard Award
- Aquatic Instructor Award
- Standard First Aid with CPR, Level C
- Assets:
- Oxygen Administration
- Pool Operator Level 1 and Level 2
- Advanced instructor certification
- Current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to start of employment, completed at employee’s expense.
- Successful Child Intervention Record Check.
- Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
- Possess excellent problem solving, multitasking, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations and customer complaints with confidence.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate of pay of $27.52 to $34.39 working up to 20 hour/week March, April and September and up to 40 hours/week May to
August (approximately) based on flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends and holidays.
