Description
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position for a Legal Services Coordinator working approximately July 2023, to January 2024. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Services and working closely with Parkland County’s external Legal Counsel, the Legal Services Coordinator provides legal file support through the preparation and review of correspondence, calendar and records management and general administrative support. The Legal Services Coordinator leads Parkland County’s corporate records management program and serves as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Coordinator which involves working with external parties and internal staff to fulfill access to information requests and ensuring proper procedures for the collection, use, access and disclosure of corporate information.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:A certificate or diploma in Legal Administration, Business or equivalent
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related administrative experience in an office environment working with FOIP, records management and/or legal experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Above average writing skills and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote)
- Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and FOIP Act
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail
- Diplomacy and tact in dealing with internal and external parties with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A starting annual salary of $60,596 - $75,745 based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
