Parkland County has a Temporary position available at the Entwistle Community Hub for a Team Lead, Aquatic Operations & Programs from approximately March 23 to September 18, 2020 working part-time from March to June and full-time from July to September. Reporting directly to the Community Development Coordinator, the Team Lead, Aquatic Operations & Programs is responsible for ensuring the aquatic facility is providing a high quality, safe, enjoyable aquatic opportunity for patrons through the provision of quality programs delivered by the lifeguards and instructors. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the aquatic facility including but not limited to the annual pool start-up and shut down, scheduling and supervision of Lifeguards and Instructors, and daily operational activities including water quality, maintenance and cleaning.
Two (2) seasons (or equivalent) as a Senior Lifeguard and/or Instructor
-National Lifeguard Award or Red Cross Lifeguard Award
-Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
-Pool Operator Level 1 and Level 2
-Advanced instructor certification
Standard First Aid with CPR, Level C is required.
Current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to start of employment, completed at employee’s expense.
Successful Child Intervention Record Check.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Possess excellent problem solving, multitasking, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations and customer complaints with confidence.
Rate of Pay: $25.58 - $31.97 per hour
Hours of Work: Up to 20 hours/week – March to June (approximately); Up to 40 hours/week -July to September (approximately)
